Dogtown Remix Beta 1 & Beta 2 RR: unf Well, Joey suggested this map to Darth Animal as one worth remixing from UT to NAB, and it certainly looks as if it would be a cool arena, complete with an underground "tube" railway and two stations - though the train doesn't actually stop at them! However, Darth says "it is too big a job for me, I just cannot find suitable textures for it. (The UT version has the textures incorporated in the map file I think, and my UnrealEd does not work well enough for me to attempt to access them!) This is a very early stage of remix with only very crude texturing and a few weapons etc - if anyone wants to do a better job, including texturing the train (!) that speeds along the tunnel, please get in touch! But even this version ought to be playable, if you want to download it... It uses the "Urban2" (here) and "publictextures" (from here) textures packs already..." Well there are roads, and right in the foreground of the screenshot is a canal, and some of the buildings you can go into, or even take a ladder up to roof level! Darth has quickly put in some health and triple strikes, so you may well want to investigate. If anyone can add suitable texturing at a suitable scale, this could be a very nice map indeed... The second Beta adds PU-TL-window, and also adds pulsators as well as triple strikes, plus some more texturing, particularly some house interiors. |
