Justin's Forest RR: 8.0 The screenshot here looks a bit pale, but that is because of a mist effect that Justin put in. But here's what he has to say: "I'm finished with my Forest :). But after finishing making trees, and bushes, and logs, and flying ships, and movers,...(after a loooong time of working...40 hours maybe overall) the map screwed up, and messed up a few things. I fixed most of the clipping, but now a tree that used to be filled with water is solid, and has a little clipping. Besides that the only other problem is there is some lag...it must be from the fog...post it on your site like my other maps." "There is one ship, (just climb on the sail!), and make sure to go in the two sniping trees, and find the three trees you can knock over, and you can enter the secret area by coming through the fog you see when in the ship room", Justin also told me, and he later gave me a tour of the place, which I certainly needed! Some of the "movers" are hard to get moving; two hollow trees (one, with an entrance cut, is inside the ring of hollow logs) do have grass-covered lifts inside, but if you don't stand in exactly the right spot, they don't do anything. The way into the secret area is hidden inside one of the bushes - I'd better not say which one, but it does have a weapon on top to make it easier to find! That grassy mover does actually have to be shot at to work, but it does work reliably - and when it descends, you need to shoot at the middle of the door before it will open. Jump on board the boat, and be sure to run right to the top of the blue sail! When the boat sets off and flies among the treetops, you should get a chance to grab the whomper... What else? Well, the trees you can knock over are dead ones, with no greeenery on the top - just shoot at the trunks, though you must choose the correct side. Once you have felled one of them you can jump onto it, and run along to snatch the triple strike! The transparent tree with the 'clipping' has a surprise, too... stand back and shoot at the very top of its greenery, the paler bit, and see what happens. The only way to get the megashield is a small rocket-jump; there is a megapower too, at the top of a lift somewhere... The gently sloping and undulating grass is nice, and the mist looks good, although it does make the place seem "laggy". I feel as if I am being a little mean with the score, but that lagginess, the hard-to-activate movers, and the sky-roof instead of skybox, all conspire to keep us to this rating. Besides, I always like to leave room to score better subsequent maps higher if they deserve it! I would certainly suggest you grab this map, it isn't a big download, it should be fine for playing in, and it has a lot of little tricks to seek out.
